WAYS TO USE THE SAUCE

I use this sauce all the time; it’s one of my staple salad dressings. Actually, I have grown to crave salads because of using it as a salad dressing.

Pretty much any vegetable you can think of tastes good dipped or sauteed in the sauce. Trust me – you really need to learn how to make peanut sauce. It’s wonderful and flavorful and all of the things you want in a multipurpose sauce. Best of all, it tastes SO much better than a store-bough sauce.

It travels pretty well too. Pack a bunch of veggies and bring a small container of the sauce along for dip. Or try it in a Thai recipe that calls for peanut sauce. Either way, it’s good, whole-food food. Particularly if you use a good quality white miso paste.

Any way you enjoy it, it’ll be one of those staple condiments you’ll always want to keep on hand.

How do you thicken peanut sauce?

Thickening the sauce doesn’t take much effort, but what is easier is to prevent it from being too thin in the first place!

As you make the peanut sauce recipe, you will be able to control how much water goes into it. Just trickle the water in with the other ingredients SLOWLY so you are able to gauge the thickness. If you want to use the sauce as a dip, you won’t need to add very much water at all.

If you add too much water and need to thicken it, simply whisk in some additional peanut butter. Start with a teaspoonful and go from there.

  • 1/2 cup white miso paste
  • 1 1/4 cups water (OR 1 cup water for dip, 1 1/2 cups water for a runnier dressing. Adjust to your liking)
